I do not have a graphic design background, but I am learning as I go. I am a bit familiar with Publisher, so I thought I would try to make a logo with this program. With a little research, and a lot of trial and error, I came up with a logo that I love. This is how I made my logo in Publisher.
Before I began with the background I chose my fonts. I found a couple of fonts I liked on Pinterest and saved them to my Fonts and Graphics board. For my logo I chose Ballerina Script and FFF Tusj, both from DaFont.com.
The Graphics Fairy has a tutorial on how to install fonts here.
Step 1: Insert the oval shape.
Step 2: Right click on “Format AutoShape”.
Step 3: Choose color.
Step 4: Insert a second, smaller oval.
Step 5: Again go to “Format AutoShape”. Choose a white background and change the dash type to “square dot”.
Step 6: Add a text box.
Step 7: Add wording and change to desired font.
Step 8: Tilt the wording by left-clicking on the box around the word and moving the box.
Step 9: Add another text box with additional text and change font. It is best to use a contrasting font.
Step 10: Change the font color to match the background color.
Step 11: Group all of the pieces together by highlighting all and clicking “group”.
Step 12: Right-click on the grouped picture and “Save As Picture”.
Step 13: Save the logo as a JPEG file and change the resolution to high quality.
Voila! We have a logo.
Optional step: I also opted to go back in and change the background and font colors to add a little fun to the mix.
