About Me

Written 6/2012: When I was 10-years-old I wanted to be a teacher, a writer and a Mommy. As a teenager I worked at the local YMCA as a child care provider, afterschool program and summer program counselor. My freshman year of college my major was Education and I worked for the campus childcare. Kids, kids, kids… I loved it!

In my mid-twenties I strayed away from early childhood development and began focusing on business. I helped my husband launch his heavy-equipment company. I graduated from Cal State San Bernardino, majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Entrepreneurial Management (what a mouthful). I enjoyed school and I was happy to help my husband with his business. After graduation, I began my career as an office manager.

I am now in my thirties. My husband and I have been able to maintain our heavy-equipment company in a very unpredictable market and economy. I still work full-time as an office manager and we rely on my income.

I would love, LoVe, LOVE to be a stay-at-home mom! However, I do not want to jeopardize my family’s financial stability by quitting my job tomorrow. My husband and I recently decided to start trying for baby #2. I am entirely thrilled to create another life and complete our family. I am also frightened to think that I may have to continue to work full-time, run a construction company and attempt to be an amazing (or at least mediocre) wife and mother.

“There has to be another way”, I thought to myself. “Is there a legitimate way to generate an income while being a stay-at-home mom?” I knew this question had been asked before. I went to my computer and searched, “how to make money at home”. Literally 348,000,000 results appeared. Customer Service Representative, Administrative Assistant and Booking Agent are out of the question with crying babies in the background. Nevertheless, I was able to find a handful of viable options to make money. I know this will not happen overnight. My plan is to establish systems of generating revenue now. My objective is to be able to comfortably transition into being a stay-at-home mom within 12 to 18 months from today, June 22, 2012.

This blog will follow my journey, my attempts, my successes and my failures. I will chronicle what has worked for me, what hasn’t and what I would do differently if I did it again. The whole blog concept is very new to me, but I am ecstatic about this endeavor. I love to write! I have not written for myself or for fun in a very long time. I can feel those creative juices flowing again and I am elated!

Amidst my “make money, save money” entries, I’d like to entertain myself (and hopefully my readers) with a few extra tidbits. My heart melted when I read of mommies that wrote blogs to their children. I though I would follow their lead and write entries to my daughter. I have a deep and undying love for my wonder dog, Kua and am honoring her by creating “canine corner” entries. I will also add information about health, fitness and creativity.

Fun facts about me:
  • I have made 106 skydives!
  • I am a certified SCUBA diver.
  • I have run six half-marathons. Fontana Days is my favorite!
  • I have raced four off-road desert races on my dirtbike.
  • I have three full brothers and 12 half-siblings!

2015 Update: We had baby #2!! And… I recently became a Stay at Home Mom!! I feel so fortunate to stay at home with my two little love bugs! I have big dreams and exciting plans. Please join me for our stay-at-home adventure!
